The Kingdom of Thailand which was participating in the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2022, won the “Best Country Pavilion Award” at the world’s largest halal exhibition in Kuala Lumpur recently.

This is the 1st year that Thailand brought non-food Halal items to be exhibited in MIHAS.

Their Department of International Trade Promotions (DITP) in Malaysia, representing Thailand, was a proud participant in the 18th MIHAS 2022.

Lending support to perform the opening ceremony of the event was Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakop who was greeted by the Thai officials.

They were led by the Minister Counsellor and Director of DITP, Mr Worawan Wanwil and his team.

Meanwhile, the Thailand Pavilion this year showcased more than 40 brands of Halal Thai products, both from food and non-food sectors.

They include modest fashion, arts and crafts, health and beauty, gifts and home decor items.

New food products were exhibited, including Crispy Coconut Roll, Fish Crisps, Oyster Mushroom Crisps, Dates fruit juice, Varieties of tom yum and curry sauces, Vegan Fish Sauce, and many others.

Latest designer fashion brands including Mirah, SHU, Siri Dress House, SC Grand: Circular, De Quarr Community, and Gemio, were showcased by models on the catwalk.

At this event, visitors get to experience exciting activities such as product presentations and auctions (for merit purposes), and Live cooking shows by Thai celebrity Chef Tosapol from “The Never Ending Summer” Restaurant in Bangkok, and food tasting.

Visitors also got to explore business opportunities to thrive in the Halal Thai trade and to contribute significantly to the global Halal Industry.

DITP hopes that by participating in this event, it will help in increasing the image of Halal Thai products not only in Malaysia, but also in the global market as well as boosting the demand to import these potential products from Thailand in near future.
