Tesla launched its latest V4 superchargers at the Gurney Plaza for the convenience of its Tesla car users in the state and country.
Present at the launch ceremony was Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow who was greeted by Tesla regional director Ms Isabel Fan along with Gurney Plaza’s Ms Selina Ng, Peter Chan and their team.
A total of four units of V4 new superchargers are located at the basement of the mall. They have the capacity to fast change the cars within 30 mins for full charge.
In the meantime, Fan also shared that Tesla cars users can take advantage of their new service centre located at Jalan Jelawat, Taman Perindustrian Seberang Jaya in Perai.
The state-of-the-art service center is equipped with a Body & Paint workshop. The new facility provides enhanced service facilities for Tesla owners in Penang and the Northern region.
“New buyers of the Tesla models can also take delivery of their new cars from this centre too. In the meantime, we also have a Penang based company which is also a provider of component parts for Tesla cars”, she added.
Tesla Malaysia is celebrating another milestone for its first ever vehicle deliveries in Penang, taking place on September 12-13, at the Service Centre.
Meanwhile, shoppers can also take a closer look at the Model Y and Model 3 Tesla cars on display at the entrance of the mall.
“To-date six million cars have been delivered with Model Y being the best selling vehicle. Tesla cars are also known for their safety as it plays a big part in their cars due to the technology”, she added.
There are now a total of 56 superchargers installed in the country and they aim to install more superchargers all around the country.
Later, Chow joined hands with Fan and other VIP guests to perform the ribbon cutting ceremony for the V4 superchargers.
For the first time in Penang, Tesla Bot, also known as Optimus, was displayed at the Gurney Plaza pop-up roadshow.
The roadshow is on till September 15, 2024. The Tesla Optimus will be complementing Tesla Model Y in Quicksilver colour on the display at the pop-up.
The Tesla Bot is a humanoid robot designed to undertake tasks that are repetitive, boring, or dangerous for humans. The design of Tesla Bot is inspired by human form which enables it to manipulate human tools, carry objects and work in factories.
Tesla Bot uses the same AI technology as Tesla vehicles, allowing it to navigate the world safely and efficiently.
