Talented artist, blogger and also a housewife, Ooi Viv juggles her three passions simultaneously on a daily basis.
Her impressive works of art are currently on display at The Ascott Gurney Penang.
And what’s more, they are for a good cause as 50 percent of the sales from art pieces will go to the Penang Hospice Society,
Among those on display are replicas of the Blue House on Campbell Street, the Wooden House on Lintang Slim, Jelutong, and the Atap House on Perak Road, Jelutong.
The initiative by the hotel is to open its doors to art enthusiasts as it launches and hosts the first Art Soiree at its property.
“This is our way to promote local artists as part of an endeavor to improve the local art scene.
“We encourage and support the appreciation of local cultural artists in order to improve the local social fabric and provide our guests with dynamic, diversified experiences through supporting local arts.
“These intriguing oil paintings enable you to experience Penang from a new perspective, with each stroke of color vividly illustrating the beautiful scenery of the spot.
“The main idea behind the collaboration is to preserve art for the Penang community by serving as a bridge for people outside of Penang and Malaysia to learn more about Penang,” said general manager Sharon Ang.
Meanwhile, the Penang Hospice Society provides extensive medical treatment to patients with severe life-limiting illnesses, mostly cancer, as well as non-cancer patients in their homes.
Do drop by the hotel to witness and support some of the amazing artwork by Ooi Viv.
