During this festive season, we are reminded of the true spirit of giving and spreading love.

Towards this end, students from Sunway University and College personally delivered 280 Christmas gifts to children from local orphanages and refugee homes, including Rumah Hope, Rumah Juara and ElShaddai Refugee Learning Centre (ERLC).

The Wishing Wall project was a heart-warming gesture and part of Sunway campus’ ongoing Campus with A Conscience initiative to encourage young people to give back and contribute to the
surrounding communities.

Group CEO of Sunway Education Group (SEG), Professor Dato’ Elizabeth Lee said, “Small gestures have the power to create a positive impact. We are truly proud of our students for taking the initiative and proactiveness to share the Christmas joy and love with children from underprivileged communities. This is a prime example of our #CampusWithAConscience spirit which we at Sunway embrace and uphold.”

Eleven-year-old Arvin from Rumah Hope could not hide his excitement when he received the gifts,

“Thank you for the presents, we are so happy! May God bless you.”

Another 11-year-old Sohail, a refugee kid from Myanmar, shared, “I’m very happy to receive the present! Today is our last day of school and we are having a party here to celebrate.”
