StarCruises, the revitalized successor of the iconic Star Cruises brand, officially relaunched its legacy with a ceremonial event held on March 27, aboard the Star Voyager in Singapore. This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the brand, which has over 30 years of history, now reinvigorated with a fresh and innovative vision for the future of cruising.
The Star Voyager embarked on her maiden voyage from Singapore and called on her first destination today in the historic city of Melaka, Malaysia. Upon the ship’s arrival, the city of Melaka warmly welcomed passengers with a vibrant array of traditional performances and exciting giveaways. This event marks the beginning of a new era for both StarCruises and Melaka, positioning the city as a key cruise hub.
From 27 March until 16 April, as well from 12 to 27 July 2025, Star Voyager will include Melaka as a destination from Singapore, bringing and boosting inbound international tourists to the city. Additionally, from 1 – 11 April and 12 – 22 July 2025, Melaka will serve as a dual homeport alongside Singapore, allowing passengers the option to embark from both Melaka or Singapore.
StarCruises also will have additional special departures from Port Klang for the upcoming school holidays with four departures between 28 May – 6 June 2025, introducing the 3 Night Medan – Singapore Cruise aboard the Star Voyager.
“We are excited to reaffirm our commitment to positioning Melaka as a key cruise hub in Southeast Asia under the revitalized StarCruises brand. The deployment of the Star Voyager will not only attract both inbound and outbound cruise passengers from across the region but also drive significant growth for Melaka and Malaysia’s overall tourism industry,” said Michael Goh, President, StarCruises and Dream Cruises.
Starting in April, Star Voyager will offer special departures from Melaka as a dual homeport with Singapore. This provides local travellers with the convenience of embarking on a 5 Night Cruise from the Melaka ICQS Complex (Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security Complex) to explore cities like Ho Chi Minh, Jakarta, Singapore, and return to Melaka.
Cruise departures from Melaka will take place on 1, 6 and 11 April for the 5 Night Jakarta –Singapore Cruises to explore both exciting cities. More departures on 12, 17 & 22 July 2025 are available for the 5 Night Ho Chi Minh – Singapore Cruises. Passengers will experience a blend of cultural exploration and relaxation as the Star Voyager sails to Ho Chi Minh City–a bustling metropolis in southern Vietnam, offering a mix of historical landmarks, vibrant street life, and modern attractions, such as the lively Ben Thanh Market, the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon etc. The city is also known for its vibrant food scene, with delicious Vietnamese dishes like pho, banh mi, and fresh seafood. The next stop on this cruise journey is Singapore, where travellers can enjoy world-class landmarks such as Merlion Park, Gardens by the Bay, and iconic neighbourhoods like Chinatown, Little India, and Kampong Glam, or indulge in world-class shopping on Orchard Road.
