The inaugural high-end audio visual (AV) showcase will be held at the Ascott Gurney Penang this weekend (June 11 and 12, 2022).
The niche event is brought to Penang by the Penang Convention & Exhibitions Bureau (PCEB) in collaboration with the organisers, Gryphon Productions Sdn Bhd.
Dubbed the “Northern AV Show 2022”, it is open to members of the public free-of-charge from 10am to 8am on both days.
Present at the launching ceremony of the event was State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, YB Yeoh Soon Hin, PCEB chief executive officer, Ashwin Gunasekeran and Wilson Teoh, director of Gryphon Productions.
“Traditionally, shows like this are normally held in Kuala Lumpur but this time around we are bringing this exhibition to Penang.
“Hi-fi geeks and enthusiasts can come and witness and experience the new products in the market. There will also be manufacturers and suppliers at the show,” said Ashwin.
He also added that the event will generate some RM3.5 million revenue for the state and its stakeholders.
The state-of-the art products include home theatre systems, portable music equipment, headphones and more.
“There is great potential for this industry in Penang. We foresee great interest in hifi dealers and retailers located in Kuala Lumpur to expand their businesses network to Penang.
“This will help them build their hub here for the Northern Region. I also believe that exhibitions such as this will bring people together for new investments and opportunities.
“It will also benefit the state’s economy for tourism and hotels as well,” said Yeoh in his address.
Meanwhile, Teoh added that among the exhibits include those from hundreds of ringgit to high end ones in the range of millions. He urged enthusiasts to come and see for themselves and enjoy the performance of the products.
“There will be 22 exhibitors from local manufacturers, Singapore and Australia. Among them will be music servers and amplifiers,” added Teoh.
So, do not miss the opportunity to take a glimpse of the AV show as they are often held in cities like Bangkok, Hong Kong or Shanghai.
