Ribena worked with local NGO, HOPE worldwide Malaysia to distribute food aid boxes and Ribena beverages, to support and boost cheer in the community for the upcoming festivity.

Ribena Malaysia is bringing communities together through grassroots-focused initiatives to spread love and care to vulnerable families in Malaysia.

In line with the holy month of Ramadan, Ribena is set to deliver the festive cheer with food aids to 800 people across Klang Valley.

Ribena added a special touch to help mosque-goers break their fast. Working closely with local mosques in the Puchong, Shah Alam and Kuala Lumpur areas, Ribena provided bubur lambuk – a flavourful porridge made with spices and creamy coconut milk, a Ramadan staple – to 500 mosque-goers who received the bubur after their prayers. The bubur lambuk sets were also paired with delicious Ribena drinks for a refreshing start to their iftar.

Rodney Tan, Marketing Director of Suntory Beverage & Food Malaysia shared, “Ribena is all about creating special and meaningful bonding moments, and we believe that we should reflect this philosophy by doing our part in giving back to the community. We hope that this distribution helps bring Malaysians closer together, through the sharing of a hearty bubur inspired meal, as they break fast and share bonding moments with their loved ones”.

To amplify extra support for those in need, Ribena also partnered with HOPE Worldwide Malaysia, an NGO dedicated to helping the urban poor and marginalised families, to distribute food aid boxes. The initiative looks to support 300 families within the NGO’s network with food items that include necessities such as rice, oil, biscuits, and more in stages, packaged with refreshing Ribena goodies.

The collaboration with HOPE kicked-off its first distribution at PPR Beringin in Kuala Lumpur recently, where families received special packages filled with Ribena products to add a refreshing cheer to their Raya celebrations.

“As Ramadan is a month of giving, we wanted to amplify this spirit by supporting Malaysians in need with something they can bring home and share with their loved ones. We hope our contribution brings joy and bonding moments to the community, and inspire others to do the same,” Rodney added.
