Resorts World Cruises (RWC), will commence its new winter season deployment for Resorts World One, cruising from Hong Kong to Sanya, Hainan.
Sanya is now the most popular winter destination in China for Chinese and overseas tourists, with the largest increase in tourists this year versus 2019 due to its sunshine, beaches, sceneries, culture, food and duty-free as key attractions.
Starting September 2023, passengers can choose a series of exciting cruise itineraries from Hong Kong, which include the: –
• “3-Night Sanya Cruise departing on Sundays
• “2-Night Sanya Cruise departing on Wednesdays
• “2-Night Weekend Getaway Cruise departing on Fridays
For passengers who desire more flexibility, the following cruise packages are offered: –
• “5-Night Hainan Cruise and Land-Stay” from Sundays to Fridays with 3-Night Sanya hotel stay
• “One Week Hainan Cruise and Land-Stay” departing and returning on Wednesdays with 4-Night Sanya hotel stay
• “One-way Sanya Cruise” to and from Sanya for those who wish combine cruising and flights
Resorts World One provides vacationers with the most flexible choice of 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7-Night options.
Hong Kong is the most convenient homeport for mainland Chinese residents, especially the Greater Bay Area, due to the excellent air, ferry and land transport links with the rest of China.
With the opening of the West Kowloon High Speed Rail and the future Shenzhen-Zhongshan bridge, almost all Guangdong Province residents can reach Hong Kong within two hours.
Passengers can stay in Hong Kong pre and post cruise, enjoying the two duty free paradises in Hong Kong and Sanya.
Hainan is also the only Chinese province which can be visited by citizens from 59 countries without the need to apply for a Chinese visa, as the only condition is to register with a local Hainan travel agency, which will be handled by Resorts World Cruises.
The 59 countries include citizens of Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and more. This visa free policy will encourage international Fly-Cruises from these 59 countries to join the Resorts World One cruises to Sanya.
On April 1, China’s General Administration of Customs, Ministry of Finance and State Administration of Taxation allowed immediate pick-up of purchased duty free goods, which makes it more convenient for shoppers. As such, tourists can immediately enjoy the duty-free goods whilst in Hainan. This is in addition to the previous policy that duty-free goods can also be picked up on departure from Hainan or sent directly to their home addresses.
Resorts World Cruises will also offer Mainland cruise passengers HK $100 in Onboard Credits per person for Interior and Oceanview Staterooms; and HK $200 in Onboard Credits for Balcony Staterooms and Palace Suites as a transport subsidy to Hong Kong. As an additional benefit, all guests will have a free baggage allowance of 50 kg per person for Interior and Oceanview Staterooms; and 100 kg per person for Balcony Staterooms and Palace Suites so that they can shop to their hearts’ content in duty-free Hainan.
During a special visit to the Resorts World One on June 16, 2023 by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of the Hainan Province, its Director General, Mr. Li huiwei said, “We welcome Resorts World One as the first international cruise ship to Hainan since the restart of cruises. This is in line with China’s economic policy that is conducive to Hainan’s efforts in strengthening its ties and co-operation with the Greater Bay Area; and is vital towards the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port as a main consumption area for the international tourism sector and the high-quality development of
Hainan’s tourism industry”.
“On behalf of Resorts World Cruises, we would like to thank the Hainan, Sanya and Hong Kong authorities for their support that has led us to this deployment,” said Michael Goh, President of Resorts World Cruises.
The 13-storey Resorts World One has a passenger capacity of 1,856 and will showcase many of the hallmarks of the Resorts World Cruises, a brand extension of Resorts World, which has a 50-year global history in hospitality with hotels and resorts in four continents, attracting over 40 million visitors a year. Resorts World One has “The Palace”, a signature “luxury ship-within-a ship”, with exclusive amenities and facilities, including European-style butler service. Balcony, Oceanview and Inside Staterooms are also offered, with best-in-class services, Asian and International cuisine, ‘live’ international entertainment, performances and a myriad of exciting offerings and recreational activities.
