Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Bus), the operator of the Rapid Penang On-Demand service, will transition to a new booking application, “Rapid On-Demand”, starting 15 November 2025, replacing the previously used “Kummute” app.

This transition allows users to book their trips more easily and quickly across all Rapid Penang On-Demand service zones. It is also part of a comprehensive alignment initiative by Rapid Bus in Penang and the Klang Valley to unify its booking platforms, strengthen operational systems, and enhance digital convenience for users.

The Rapid On-Demand application features a new, more user-friendly interface equipped with improved functions such as pick-up location setting, real-time vehicle arrival display, and live booking status updates—all designed to ensure a smoother and more efficient booking experience.

According to Acting Chief Executive Officer of Rapid Bus, Ku Jamil Zakaria, “The transition to the Rapid On-Demand application in Penang not only simplifies the booking process but also enhances operational efficiency and service quality. It complements our efforts to standardize applications across all our operational regions, ensuring that every user enjoys a better, easier, and more reliable travel experience.”

The Rapid On-Demand application can be downloaded for free via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Existing Kummute users are encouraged to switch to the new application before November 15, 2025 to ensure smooth, uninterrupted access to services.

Meanwhile, the RM1 fare promotion per trip will continue for all Rapid Penang On-Demand users across eleven (11) service zones, with the following payment methods accepted:
• Debit or credit card
• DuitNow QR
• e-Wallet
• Mutiara Unlimited Travel Pass
• Rapid Mesra Pass (formerly known as the OKU Smile Pass)
