In conjunction with the up-coming Hari Raya celebrations, the Queensbay Mall in Bayan Lepas organised a corporate social responsibility (CSR) gathering and a break of fast session for some 30 kids from Pusat Jagaan Inapan Kasih Sayang.
Present to receive the children was Ms Selina Ng (Retail Head), Ms Lee Sue Ling Centre Manager Queensbay Mall and Peter Chan, general manager of Gurney Plaza and their team.
The home was also presented with a donation of RM3,000 and each child was presented with raya goodies from AEON Queensbay Mall and Popular.
Also present was Tourism Malaysia Northern Region director Shahrul Aman and his deputy Pn Siti Hajar.
A colourful launch ceremony was also held at the mall’s main atrium where shoppers gathered to witness the celebration.
This year, the atrium has been decorated based on a “Malay Palace Courtyard” concept whereby it represents the celebration of an elite group of Malays from olden days.
The setting also reflects a palace looking courtyard at our Central Atrium complete with detailed workmanship which reflects the olden royal Malay culture.
Meanwhile, the kids were hosted to a tasty McDonald’s treat to break fast.
As a run-up to festivities, the mall will also host mesmerizing gamelan and colourful Malay dance performances throughout the month heading to 1 st Syawal working with Dewan Budaya, Universiti Sains Malaysia.
Various activities and festive redemptions will be held throughout the month of April 2023. Among them are Tarian Mak Yong & Ulek Mayang, Gamelan Wangsa Mutiara, Tarian Joget, Boria Penang, Tarian Canggung, Lompat Ketingting and Batu Seremban.
