With Deepavali celebrations just around the corner, the Queensbay Mall (QBM) has unveiled its festive decorations for the “Festival of Lights” at its main atrium.

This year the theme of the promotion is the “Kaleidoscope of Deepavali”.

Colourful lights and symbolic decorations and pastel colours fill the entrance to create the festive mood. They signify auspiciousness while the centre stage is created with the lotus in mind.

Then, there is a motif of a life-sized cow and its calf to signify its importance in the Hindu culture.

Present at the launch ceremony was CapitaLand’s general manager, Peter Chan and QBM Centre Manager, Ms Lee Sue Ling and their team members.

Guests were treated to a showcase of traditional dance performance by dancers from the Temple of Fine Arts.

The gathering also served to reward shoppers for the “Shop & Be Rewarded” winners for the months of July and August.

While some of the lucky shoppers won cash vouchers ranging from RM100 to RM1,000, the main prizes ranged from GARMIN Smartwatch, BOSE Earbuds, AirWheel, Mini T, iPad and iPhone 15 Pro.

After posing for photographers, the winning shoppers were treated to light snacks provided by the Dandy eatery.

Meanwhile, as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the mall has purchased handmade fabrics from the National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) to be given away as door gifts.

As a run-up to the festival, QBM will host various dance performances to hype up the festive atmosphere at the mall. Among them are the Bharatanatyam and Odissi dance performances for the viewing pleasure of shoppers.
