It is back-to-back food galore in Penang as the Penang International Food Festival or PIFF@Batu Kawan kicked off at the Design Village Outlet Mall here yesterday.

Present to launch the ceremony was State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy YB Wong Hon Wai accompanied by Penang Global Tourism (PGT) Chief Executive Officer, Ooi Chok Yan.

Also present was the state assemblyman for Bukit Tambun, YB Goh Choon Aik, Andy Song, Chief Operating Officer of PE Land Penang Sdn Bhd, representative of the mayor of Seberang Perai City Council, Jack Wong of TLM Event among others.

The food fare is being held at the Design Village Outlet Mall vicinity.

In line with the Penang2030 vision and ‘Jom! Experience Penang’ tourism campaign, the Festival transports visitors to Batu Kawan—a hidden holiday gem in Seberang Perai—where a food lover’s paradise encompassing over 100 of Penang’s finest food and beverage spots, including vibrant cafes, renowned restaurants and beloved street food stalls awaits.

The highly anticipated culinary event is set to delight visitors as they explore diverse dining experiences at the various corners of the festival. 

Visitors can indulge in the cosy ambiance of the Pop-up Cafe Corner, where they can unwind with exquisite beverages and pastries. 

For the meat lovers, the Barbecue Corner promises mouth-watering grilled delicacies that will leave them craving more.

The festival’s vicinity will be adorned with eye-catching decorations, luring camera-loving foodies to capture unforgettable PIFF @ Batu Kawan moments with their family and friends. Energising music performances and jaw-dropping fire show are expected to add merriment to the gastronomic event.

An expected turnout of over 200,000 food enthusiasts, both locals and tourists, this year’s festival is set to be the largest yet. 

Whether it’s a casual outing with friends or a family gathering, PIFF @ Batu Kawan offers an array of flavours that cater to every palate, inviting visitors to enjoy local food by top F&B spots in Penang under one roof.

For those who missed yesterday;s session, do not fret,you can still check out the festival and enjoy all of the goodies today from 5pm till 11pm. Kids can also take part in the various games and booths set-up for them too. A grand fireworks display will be the finale of the festival.
