A team from the Penang Hindu Endowment Board (PHEB) made a courtesy call cum study tour at the Buddhist Tzu Chi Dialysis Centre along Logan Road here yesterday.
They were led by Senator Dr Lingesh RA .
Upon arrival, they were greeted by Penang Buddhist Tzu–Chi Merits Society Malaysia commissioner Dato Khoo Boo Leong and his able team members.
The visiting group was taken on a tour of the premises and briefed on the good work done at the centre to benefit the deserving community.
“At our Tzu Chi dialysis centre, the philosophy is to “respect life” and we care for the patients’ body, mind and spirit. We do not treat them as mere patients but care for them as a whole human being with gratitude, respect and love,” said Khoo.
Meanwhile, Lingesh posted on his facebook that they felt a feeling of warmth as we walked into this inviting homely place that was akin to a 5-star hospitality place.
“Right from the entrance to the dialysis rooms everything was top notch. This centre has a strength of 96 dialysis beds ably run by volunteers and assisted by medical personnel.
“Our vision in PHEB is to emulate this amazing feat of starting a dialysis centre for Hindus in Penang, especially those from the financially marginalised segment of the community. We also thank Dato Khoo and team for the wonderful time spent hosting us,” he said.
Dato’ Khoo also offered his advice and support for PHEB in our endeavours.
