In a ceremony filled with tradition and pageantry, the new Governor of Penang Tun Ramli Ngah Talib took his oath of office at Dewan Sri Pinang yesterday. 

Welcoming him was Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow who was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister 1 Dato Dr Mohamed Abdul Hamed, Deputy Chief Minister II YB Jagdeep Singh Deo among other dignitaries.

Upon arrival, Tun Ramli inspected the guard of honour which consisted of 103 personnel from the Second Battalion of the Malay Regiment.

After taking his oath Tun Ramli signed the documents of office witnessed by High Court Judge of Penang Yang Arif Dato’ Rozana Ali Yusoff who also signed the documents.

For the records, Tun Ramli becomes the ninth Governor of Penang.
