It was a timely contribution of funds in conjunction with the 135 anniversary of the  Tua Peh Kong Temple at Jalan Terengganu by the Penang state government.

The Year of the Tiger saw several other temples receiving funds for their maintenance and upkeep.

On hand was State Exco for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning, Jagdeep Singh Deo.

“We will continue to ensure all places of worship including other than Islam are assisted.

“To-date, we have approved 207 applications at a value of RM8.69 million for this purpose,” he added.

The temple has been supported by the state government for the past 14 years.
