Celebrating the success of several food outlets in Penang being awarded the MICHELIN Guide recently, the Penang State Government will be hosting the “Penang is Michelin Star-Glazed” ceremony at the Amari Hotel tomorrow.
The ceremony is to acknowledge and recognize all the awardees from Penang for the year 2023 MICHELIN Guide.
State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, YB Yeoh Soon Hin in a press statement that he has spared no effort in guiding the MICHELIN Guide into Penang as he sees its pivotal roles and influence on the tourism and gastronomy market of the state.
By bringing in the MICHELIN Guide into Penang, an initiative done by the office of the Penang State Executive Councillor for Tourism and Creative Economy, has become the beacon of recovery and growth of local businesses of the state.
“I am proud to invite all Penang awardees to the ceremony of ‘Penang is Michelin Star-Glazed’ tomorrow. We want to acknowledge and recognize all Penang awardees for their selection into the MICHELIN Guide.”
Yeoh stated that this exciting celebration has been in the works for some time, and he is thrilled to finally be able to share it with the community.
“I believe the awardees will greatly enhance the value of our gastronomy tourism and help Penang continue to grow as a top gastronomy destination in Asia region,” he added.
Besides congratulating the winners for their well-deserved recognition, Yeoh would like to express his unwavering faith in other local establishments, encouraging them not to give up as he has firm confidence that there will be more winners from Penang in the 2024 MICHELIN Guide.
