Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has announced that the state will contribute one’s salary of the state exco members towards the Covid-19 Fund.
This is following the announcement by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin that the federal government cabinet ministers will contribute three month’s salary towards the fund.
“We are in solidarity towards the fight against Covid-19 and this gesture is to show our solidarity.
“In our meeting today, we decided to contribute one month’s salary in the month of June 2021.
“Our contribution will serve to assist in the public medical and also the economic development of Penang overall.
“The contribution is the second time since we had contributed in 2020 earlier,” said Chow in the press statement.
