The recent Penang Smart Parking (PSP) hiccups has been resolved swiftly.
Penang State Exco for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning, Jagdeep Singh Deo said that the technical error has been resolved.
“Yesterday’s technical issues with the Penang Smart Parking (PSP), have been rectified. All data in the system is intact and the technical issues with the display of outstanding balances have been restored.
“The PSP programme has received a very encouraging response since its launch in August 2019 together with our Chief Minister.
“To-date, we have seen 746,687 downloads with 300,370 active users with some RM29.1 million parking fees collected through this application which is in line with us becoming a Smart City.
“Our Smart City agenda under Penang Vision 2030 will continue. To date, we have implemented some 87 Smart Initiatives throughout Penang and are slated to reach 100 by the middle of the year and 120 by end of the year. We will also be firm in ensuring that there are no disruptions in any of our said programmes,” added Jagdeep.
He also added that the final batch of 1,716 unit CCTV’s for this PSP programme has seen 34,284 units already been installed in Seberang Perai.
“It is our firm stand that all our projects must continue with the main aim of assisting Penangites in terms of delivery of services. We will continue to monitor all our initiatives to ensure that they are efficiently delivered,” he said.
