
A bevy of models adorned in the latest creations of priceless jewellery and valuable gems took to the catwalk at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre earlier today.
The event was the Penang Signature Gold, Gems, & Jewellery Fair (PSG) 2025.
Present to perform the launch ceremony was State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy YB Wong Hon Wai accompanied by a list of guests.
He was accompanied by several assemblymen namely, YB Chee Yeh Keen, state assemblyman for Bagan Jermal, YB Phee Syn Tze, state assemblyman for Sungai Puyu and YB Wong Yue Harng, state assemblyman for Pengkalan Kota.
Also present was Datuk Johnson Lim, CEO of Elite Expo, Dato’ Ivan Chee, President of Penang Goldsmith & Jewellers Association (PGJA), Ashwin Gunasekeran, Chief Executive Officer of Penang Convention and Exhibition Bureau (PCEB), Dato’ Chiah Hock Yew, President of the Federation of Goldsmiths & Jewellers Associations of Malaysia (FGJAM), Dato’ Seri Louis Ng Chun Hau, President of Malaysia Gold Association (MGA) among a host of guests.

In his opening address, Wong expressed his delight in seeing the event growing in stature since 2016.
“The industry and becoming one of Penang’s most prestigious B2B platforms for the gold and jewellery industry. It also brings together the best and the brightest from across the globe.
“There are some 120 exhibition booths displaying a diverse range of countries, including China, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Thailand, Singapore, India, Japan, and Malaysia,” he said.
He also shared that delegates from the UAE, the Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and beyond are expected to attend over the weekend bringing fresh momentum into Penang’s role as an international hub for trade and collaboration.
The exhibition will also feature a series of high-level forums and networking programs, carefully curated to deliver insights into industry trends, foster partnerships and promote trade.
VIP guests later toured the various booths to take a closer look at the latest gold and gem stone creations.
