The Penang Marriott Hotel and Marriott Executive Apartments Penang hosted its Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Charity and Appreciation Night, uniting guests, corporate clients, media members and children from The Children’s Protection Society (CPS) and The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home in a celebration of joy and giving.

Subash Basrur, Complex General Manager, was on hand to welcome his guests.

“The lights of our Christmas tree symbolize the light within each of us – to make a difference in the lives of others.

“The Christmas tree is dotted with 500 teddy bears which are being sold at RM99 each for charity. I am happy to share that more than 400 have been sold even before the launch ceremony”, said a delighted Subash.

Joining the celebration were the various heads of departments of the hotel.

Subash also added that the support of their partners and guests enables them to deliver exceptional experiences.

He also expressed gratitude to all attendees, including corporate clients, Marriott Bonvoy elite members, media partners, and the staff for their support and contributions.

The evening ended on a high note with an exciting lucky draw, leaving everyone filled with festive cheer and goodwill. Proceeds from the charity sale will go to funding educational opportunities for CPS children.

Guests were later ushered to the hotel’s ballroom and treated to a range of fine buffet lines.

A lucky draw was among the highlights of the evening.

Meanwhile, donated items from staff members were also presented to The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Home.

In keeping with the festive cheer, Subash even invited a street guitarist who is a regular feature near Gurney Plaza here to perform at the ceremony.

Now, that is giving back to the community !
