Iconic Regency and Iconic Marjorie
Penang-based Iconic Group is delighted to announce the promotion appointment of their general manager, Kevin Cheah to the post of the Group General Manager, effective September 1, 2024.
In this new expanded role, Cheah will oversee the operations of Iconic Hotel Penang, Iconic Regency Service Residences and the highly anticipated 5-star Iconic Marjorie Hotel, slated to open in Q4 2024.
He brings over 20 years of extensive experience in the hospitality industry to this new role.
Since joining the Iconic Hotel Penang as General Manager in April 2018, his strategic leadership and commitment to excellence have contributed significantly to the hotel’s success.
Cheah’s experience spans across properties with renowned international hotel brands such as Shangri-La International Hotels & Resorts and the Millennium Hotels & Resorts.
His professional knowledge has also been recognized with his position as an advisor to the IPK College, a prestigious institution in Penang.

Additionally, he plays an active role in the Penang travel industry by being the vice chairman of Malaysia Association of Hotels (MAH Penang Chapter).
He is a double Diploma graduate in Hotel & Travel Management from Reliance College.
Having worked locally and abroad, he has extensive experience of driving revenues from both international and domestic markets while maintaining the high service level of hospitality.
Cheah started his career with Penang Mutiara Resort (a member of Leading Hotels of the world) as event coordinator and worked his way up his career.
His last posting was with G Hotel Penang as the Executive Assistant Manager where he had successfully positioned the hotel as a leading hotel in the region.
He also has pre-opening experiences as well as being responsible for areas such as sales and marketing during his tenure at the G Hotel Kelawai, Penang.
