Penang Governor Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak presided over the state-level World Children’s Day 2024 celebrations recently.

More than 3,200 guests including 2,200 children attended the celebrations held at the residence of the governor – Seri Mutiara here.

The event also received the Malaysian Book of Records (MBOR) recognition for the largest gathering of children at the celebration.

Large tents and games areas were specially set-up for the benefit of the children.Also present was YB Lim Siew Khim, the exco for Social Development, Welfare and Non-Islamic Affairs.

The governor himself had suggested the hosting of the celebration at the premises of his residence which offered sprawling and open space.

The wide smiles on the faces of the children was a sure sign they had a good time at the gathering.

The governor and VIP guest took time to mingle and get to know the children who were from various backgrounds. The kids took part in interactive games focussed on the STEM initiatives. The children were also taught on the use of AED defibrillators for use in times of an emergency medical situation. 

Sponsors also received certificates of appreciation from the governor while there were lots of lucky draw prizes too.
