Tun Ahmad Fuzi unveiling the plaque

For the very first time in their history, a Penang Governor visited the Penang Shan Children’s Home Association in Jalan Mount Erskine.

The rare honour was to launch their new annex building for the accommodation purposes of the boys and girls housed there.

Present to greet Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak upon arrival was Prof Dr P Ramasamy along with the chairman of the home, Dr S. Balakrishnan.

After the formalities of speeches by Ramasamy and Balakrishnan, Tun Ahmad Fuzi made a tour of the new premises.

The home was founded in 2005 and has helped offer shelter, guidance, character building and education to many children from broken homes or orphans.

The home is sustained by public donations and well-wishers, and houses 27 children at the moment.

Many of these children have gone on to establish a good career for themselves in various industries.

The governor later launched the new annex by unveiling the plaque.
