Penang Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow will self- quarantine for five days starting yesterday (Sunday) due to close contact with a covid-19 infected person.
According to a statement from chief minister’s office, Chow had the contact last Saturday at an official event.
As directed by the State Health Department, Chow will undergo the Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) on the third day, which falls tomorrow, Jan 25, 2022.
Several other individuals have also been directed to undergo self- quarantine due to close contact.
To this regard, the State Health Department will further contact trace other individuals involved in the incident.
