The month of October is commonly known as breast cancer awareness month.
In line with this important month, the Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH) launched its theme: The Pink Movement, in promoting breast cancer awareness; with our key message being, Don’t Delay, Don’t Hesitate.
Breast cancer is like a journey over a rough sea in a strong wind. Women are strongly encouraged to screen for breast cancer as early screening saves lives.
Their key message being, Don’t Delay, Don’t Hesitate.
The Pink Movement is a multifaceted event where we strive to : 1. Fundraising – raise the much-needed fund to our cancer fund, to assist needy cancer patients 2. Pledge – free mammogram for deserving ladies in our community 3. Educate – Impart knowledge about breast cancer through infographics, awareness videos and health talks 4. Create awareness – early screening saves lives.
Among all the important elements of The Pink Movement, the highlight will see the hospital offers free mammogram screening.
Philanthropists and members of the public are engaged to support this project. For every RM500 donation made to their cancer fund, the hospital will offer 1 deserving lady in B40 group a mammogram screening.
Translating their effort to create awareness on the importance of breast screening, the hospital offers 200 free mammograms and aims to fundraise RM100,000 for cancer fund.
Besides fundraising & free mammograms, they have lined up many health talks, premiering our very own awareness video on mammograms, weekly fun games and many more.
