Penang Adventist Hospital organised the MENtion It: Building Compassion, Health & Strength charity fitness event in conjunction with International Men’s Day to promote men’s health and wellness, while raising funds for the hospital’s Cancer Fund, which supports underprivileged cancer patients through medical subsidies.

Held on 16 November 2025 (Sunday) at the Gurney Plaza New Wing Atrium, the event drew enthusiastic participation from the public. Attendees took part in a series of invigorating workout sessions—including HIIT, Les Mills Dance, and Mat Pilates—celebrating strength, wellness, and community spirit.

Beyond the main workouts, mall-goers and participants enjoyed engaging activities such as fitness challenges, a moustache shave for charity, and physiotherapy fitness tests, reinforcing the message that men’s health encompasses both physical fitness and holistic wellbeing.

The event successfully raised RM263,550 for the Cancer Fund through strong public support and generous contributions. Among the attendees was Pulau Tikus assemblyman YB Joshua Woo.

The Cancer Fund plays a vital role in easing the financial burden of patients undergoing cancer treatment. Last year alone, the fund disbursed RM465,070 and assisted 22 patients.

“Men often don’t seek help easily, but reaching out for help is also a brave action,” said Albin Phua, Chief Executive Officer of Penang Adventist Hospital.

Penang Adventist Hospital extends its heartfelt appreciation to all sponsors, partners, and participants who contributed to making MENtion It a resounding success. Together, we continue to champion healthier lifestyles and provide hope for patients in need.
