Playing their role as a caring corporate citizen, the Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH) recently carried out a CSR project to recognise front liners manning road blocks at various locations in Penang.
The frontliners were treated to PAH’s famous cinnamon bread. among others items.
“The full lockdown imposed since June 1, 2021 saw more police personnel and RELA working harder to keep all of us in Penang safe and in compliance with the stipulated SOPs.
“We wanted to show our sincere appreciation to all personnel who worked hard during these challenging times by sending our warm thoughts through our Adventist cinnamon rolls. As front liners ourselves, we know truly well that holding the fort during this exceptional time is not easy.
“I thank all front-liners at various roadblock stations for your dedication.” said Ronald Koh, President & Chief Executive Officer of Penang Adventist Hospital.
“The hospital also recognised that there are many in our community who are impacted financially due to the current full lockdown.
“This round, we partnered with 12 Penang State Assemblyman, to distribute delicious and wholesome packed food, specially prepared by our hospital kitchen, and Adventist whole meal bread to families who are in need.
“A total of 2350 boxes of packed food & Adventist whole meal bread respectively were donated. This CSR programme also saw distribution of hand sanitizers and face masks for the community, donated by generous suppliers. This CSR programme was made possible through the funds raised from the hospital’s in-house recycling project. A total of RM18,738 was disbursed for this purpose.
“For 2021 PAH undertook two rounds of community service projects. The first being offering care packages to 13 charity homes that are very much affected by this pandemic in March, and the second being this current community service project. Both community service projects have seen PAH disburse more than RM36,000, from their Recycling Fund, for the community.
“As a not-for-profit hospital, we are continuously looking and reaching out to those in need in our community. We will strive our level best to play our part, both medically and socially for the benefit of our community, echoing our founder’s philosophy of God Heals, We Help.” said Koh.
The of partnership was with the Penang State Assemblyman for Sungai Pinang, Lim Siew Khim, State Assemblyman for Air Itam, Joseph Ng, State Assemblyman for Seri Delima, Syerleena Abdul Rashid, State Assemblyman for Komta Teh Lai Heng, State Assemblyman for Pantai Jerejak, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution, State Assemblyman for Batu Uban, Kumaresan Aramugam, State Assemblyman for Pulau Tikus, Chris Lee, State Assemblyman for Kebun Bungah, Jason Ong, Penang State Assemblyman for Pulau Betong, Mohd. Tuah Ismail, State Assemblyman for Batu Maung, Dato’ Haji Abdul Halim, State Assemblyman for Paya Terubong, Yeoh Soon Hin and state exco for Yourism and Creative Economy and finally State Assemblyman for Tanjong Bungah, Zairil Khir Johari and state exco for Infrastructure and Transport.
“Spreading positivity and kindness are two extremely important elements needed in such trying times – much like what we, Penangites, are facing right now. The pandemic has unleashed a wave of uncertainty and many of our brothers and sisters have been greatly affected, both financially and socially.
“The CSR project carried out by Penang Adventist Hospital was indeed a wonderful gesture and Seri Delima is grateful to be a part of this. We distributed food to 250 families within Seri Delima. Looking forward to future collaborations – hopefully soon,” said Sherleena Abdul Rashid, Penang State Assemblyman for Seri Delima.
