The Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi celebrated its 35th anniversary with a group of travel agents, hoteliers and media members.

Being one of the oldest resorts on the enchanting island, the resort had hosted guests and dignitaries from all over the world.

They are also the first 5-star resort in the Pantai Cenang stretch.

Be it for leisure or business, guests at the resort can expect top notch service, dining and accommodation facilities.

It was back in 1989 when the resort was built to host the delegates of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting offering its unique style architecture using mainly wood to resemble a traditional Malay house.

Recently, the resort has undergone a major upgrade to its facilities to the tune of RM105 million. The focus being on its chalets, new-look swimming pool, ballroom and restaurants (Spice Market/Pelangi Grill) and other common areas.

In leading off the celebration, the resort’s general manager, Neoh Kean Boon shared that the gathering is also to launch their spectacular new Horizon Pool and Cafe.

“This milestone is more than a celebration of our journey so far, it represents our dedication to progress and transform.

“I also would like to extend my heartiest gratitude to the talented designer of the entire project team which brought this vision to life.

“This renovation journey, spanning two years, has resulted in upgrading the overall charm and ambience of the resort. Personally, being here holds special meaning to me asI had the privilege of serving here from 2004 to 2010.

“I would also like to show my thanks to the suppliers, agents, partners and most importantly, our staff too. A special mention goes to our owner too”, shared Neoh.

He also expressed his confidence that they will now be able to take the property to the next level, to a more luxury property/hotel with world-class customer service. 

“The Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi is a timeless island sanctuary nestled between award winning landscape gardens and the famed Cenang Beach”, said Neoh.

Guests later adjourned to theHorizon pool area where they were feted to fine wine and canapes.

The resort offers 355 rooms and 51 chalets on the sprawling 35-acre property  grounds. Other facilities include their Lobby Lounge, Club Lounge, Gym, Spa, Kid’s Club and farm and a ballroom to cater for 500 persons sit down for dinner and 10 meeting rooms.

They are also a popular destination for meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) for local and international clients.

With the up-coming Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) 2025 on the horizon, the resort is expected to be filled to the brim with foreign dignitaries, officials, ministers, ambassadors and generals from the army, navy and air force.
