Some 30 participants took part in the one-day wine workshop & tasting session held at the Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang yesterday.

They were from the various hotels, restaurants and other food & beverage outlets on the island.

The overwhelming response along with enthusiastic participants made the forum a lively affair.

Led by wine expert William Chong, who is the Regional Director for AsiaEuro Wines & Spirits, participants had the chance to ask relevant questions to broaden their knowledge on the various wine ranges.

He touched on topics like – “Vine to Wine”, “How to read/understand labels”, “Champagne & Sparkling tasting”, “Old World Wine vs New World Wine”, “Fortified Wines” and “Storage of Wines” and “Wine Service”.

Participants also had the opportunity to taste different varieties of wine from many wine producing countries.

Surely with the new found knowledge, the participants can put them to good use at their workplace.

More such sessions are in the pipeline, so stay tuned.

The session is organised by Persatuan Penia-Peniaga Kaum Tionghua Langkawi, Kedah and Liquid Village (LV).
