Home-grown audio-visual showcase, the Northern International Audio-Visual Show (NIAVS) 2026 will come to Penang again from April 17-19 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre here.

Present at a press conference to share more details on the event was Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy YB Wong Hon Wai along with Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) Chief Executive Officer, Ashwin Gunasekeran.

Also present was Wilson Teoh, director of Gryphon Production who are the organisers of the showcase along with Shelly Loo representing Setia SPICE Convention Centre and sponsors.

During his opening address, Wong shared his delight in welcoming the 4th Northern International Audio & Visual Show 2026 to Penang.

“The Northern International Audio & Visual Show has steadily grown into a key platform for audio and visual technology enthusiasts, industry professionals, and innovators to gather, exchange ideas and experience the latest developments in sound and visual technologies,” said Wong.

He added that he was made to understand that the three-day exhibition is expected to feature more than 30 exhibitors from across the region and beyond, including companies and brands from Canada, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore and many more.

“The organisers anticipate welcoming approximately 7,500 visitors over the course of the event. Events like this play an important role in strengthening Penang’s position as a vibrant destination for business events and international exhibitions.

“In fact, Penang’s business events sector recorded remarkable growth in 2025. Penang successfully hosted 3,391 business events, marking a 64.7% increase compared to 2,059 events in 2024. The number of delegates surged to 451,198, reflecting a 47.8% growth, while total room nights reached 824,505, representing a 47.6% increase from the previous year.

“Collectively, these achievements contributed to an estimated Economic Event Impact of RM1.91 billion for the state. These strong figures demonstrate the growing confidence of event organisers and international communities in Penang as a premier destination for meetings, exhibitions, and conventions,” shared Wong.

Meanwhile, Ashwin said that a new segment for car audio enthusiasts will also be introduced this year.

“Exhibitors from France, Italy and Germany are expected to showcase their latest gadgets at the event. The event will also serve to highlight cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange so as to create opportunities for brands to connect with consumers, distributors and industry professionals.
