The 4th edition of the Northern Audio & Visual Show 2026 kicked off at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre earlier this morning.
On hand to launch the showcase was State Exco for Tourism & Creative Economy YB Wong Hon Wai accompanied by PCEB CEO Ashwin Gunasekeran.
Also present was Penang MOTAC Director Dr Annuar Mohamed, Wilson Teoh Director Gryphon Productions and a host of other invitees.
The event offers numerous booths displaying the latest musical gadgets and equipment in the industry. Participants are from Canada, the United States, Japan, China, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sweden Italy, the Netherlands and Taiwan.

Wong in his opening address said that this year’ show brings 45 exhibitors for local to view and admire.
“We are also delighted to welcome key opinion leaders (KOLs) and media representatives from Hong Kong, Indonesia and the United States, whose presence will further amplify the event’s reach and visibility on the global stage.
“A niche exhibition like this opens up new market segments, connects communities and creates exciting opportunities for businesses, enthusiasts and consumers alike.
This event also comes at a meaningful time as Malaysia gears up for Visit Malaysia Year 2026, a national initiative aimed at boosting tourism and showcasing the best of what our country has to offer.
“This exhibition is of great significance for Penang. It represents the state’s growing capacity to host high-impact, high-value events, further strengthening our position as a key player in the global business and innovation landscape.

Meanwhile, Ashwin shared his delight in seeing the event grow from a small showcase to what it is now.
“The journey of the Northern International Audio & Visual Show has been a remarkable one. What began as a modest showcase within a hotel setting has evolved significantly over the years. Last year marked a major milestone as we elevated the show to a new level by moving into a convention centre setting, allowing for greater scale, enhanced experiences, and broader international participation.
“We also introduced the sound cabin, the first of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region, creating a truly immersive and high-quality listening environment.
VIP guests later took time to visit the various booths and cabins to see and listen to the musical marvels at the show.
Come visit and support the NIAVS which run till April 19, 2026.
