With Penang’s popularity as a holiday destination and its vibrant tourism industry, more and more new hospitality brands are making their way here.

This time around, it is the Singapore-based Frasers Hospitality Group.

Frasers Hospitality, which also celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2023, is expected to add more keys in Southeast Asia as part of its continued growth trajectory. 

The award-winning hospitality operator currently has more than 120 properties in over 70 cities in its global portfolio.

Their opening in Penang under their brand name of Capri by Fraser, Penang, they will offer fresh and unique experiences for urban travellers in 2026.

Its central location puts guests right on the fringe of the famed George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site, where museums, street art, bars and eateries are all within walking distance.

With Penang’s core business district nearby, work and leisure combine seamlessly for a memorable stay in one of Malaysia’s most exciting cities.

The opening is in line with their expansion in the ASEAN region, the Fraser Residence Putrajaya will also make its debut in 2024, strategically located between Putrajaya and Cyberjaya for easy access to government offices and Malaysia’s Silicon Valley.

Its 283 fully-furnished serviced apartments are part of an upmarket development with offices, retail outlets and schools nearby, and boast a stunning view of the picturesque Putrajaya Lake.

Other properties in the pipeline are in Jakarta, Indonesia; Bangkok, Thailand; Cambodia and Singapore.

The Fraser Suites Kebon Melati and Capri by Fraser, Karet Kuningan are set to bring new lifestyle experiences to the Indonesian capital, with both luxurious and design-centric accommodation to cater to C-suite travellers and experience-seeking digital nomads.

The group will also add a second Fraser Suites in Bangkok, Thailand, designed to bring luxury living to a whole new level for discerning long-stay guests.

Coming up in August 2023 is Fraser Residence Promenade Singapore, which will deliver a unique waterfront lifestyle with heritage appeal in an exclusive location. Centrally located in Jiak Kim Street at the former Zouk site, the 72 serviced apartments in a mixed-use development heralds a new living experience that fosters social bonding and community spirit.

The first Capri by Fraser in Phnom Penh, Cambodia was opened in April this year. It will be followed by Capri by Fraser, City Centre Phnom Penh in 2025, and Fraser Residence Sen Sok, Phnom Penh in 2026.

The openings are part of a greater push into Indochina and the Southeast Asian region.
