Experienced tour & travel operator, Ms Carolyn Leong, was elected as the new chairperson of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Penang chapter.
She succeeds former chairman, Mr Vergis Mathews to the post.
Leong is the chief executive officer of Angel Tours Sdn Bhd here. Being one of the oldest tour and travel operators in companies in Penang, they have been in operation since 1978.
Leong holds a Bachelor of Business degree from Monash University. She will serve the term from 2023 till 2025 as the chairperson.
Angel Tours deals in outbound, Inbound, ticketing with IATA. reservation & ticketing and affiliated with all Airlines. Awarded Aussie, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan and Swiss Specialist.
Meanwhile, Leong will be assisted by a new team consisting of vice chairman, Abdul Zulkifli, managing director of Lafaz Syukur Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd & Azr Alif Enterprise and Treasurer, George Ong, CEO of Travel 88 Sdn Bhd.
The new committee members are led by Ms Sadie Yeoh, general manager of Destination Asia Destination Management Sdn. Bhd, Datuk Hazlina Abdul Rashid, director of Afrinabatrisyia Travel & Tour Sdn Bhd, Ms K. Thamarai, CEO/director of Speedmex Rent-A-Car SB and Routers Tours and Travel Sdn Bhd, and Ms Yeap Li Boon of CS Yeap Travel & Tours Sdn. Bhd.
