Penang has a new attraction with the launch of the first “Augmented Reality” (AR) park in the country at the Armenian Park in the heart of Georgetown.
Present to grace the occasion was Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow along with State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy YB Yeoh Soon Hin.
Also present was Komtar assemblyman Teh Lai Heng, DRAng Ming Chee, Georgetown Mayor Dato Yew Tung Seang, general manager of Georgetown World Heritage Incorporated among others.
Visitors to the park will be able to scan and view the various art works on display.
“This is a momentous occasion for us as we combine traditional physical art installations with cutting-edge digital technology. Visitors can explore art from a new perspective.
“The AR Parl will establish itself as a new landmark for Penang to attract visitors from far and wide,” said Chow.
The chief minister also tried out the new AR facilities to experience the new installation.
