This Nasi Kandar outlet in Georgetown, Penang prioritises sustainable practices and to maintain heritage value of their premises.
Newly opened “Nasi Kenduri Amazon” located along Chulia Street offers home cooked meals using authentic recipes and ingredients.
What is more outstanding is that they aim to retain the aesthetics of their heritage building by retaining most of the original design and structures.
“In line with this, we ordered custom-made tables and chairs made from rubber wood fashioned in classroom style seating for our outlet here.
“More importantly, we have treated the walls and wooden structures in the building to maintain the heritage look.
“We also minimize the use of plastic in line with sustainable practices,” said the co-partner Mohamed Fayiz Kuthu Buddeen to Penang Hyperlocal.
Coming from a family of traditional cooks, they are the third generation who specialize in cooking for weddings and private functions, they are well placed to ensure home cooked nasi kenduri spread.
They are open daily from 10am to cater for the lunch crowd for dine in and takeaways.
They also have another outlet in Putrajaya at the Ministry of Finance (MOF).
“This new outlet was actually located at the MBPP building along Beach Street which closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” added Fayiz.
Among the highlights of our dishes are Nasi Tomato, Nasi Minyak, Nasi Hujan Panas, Kurma Kambing (local mutton), Ayam Masak Merah, Ayam Goreng Rempah, sayur timun, kobis, nenas and more.
The eatery can accommodate around 50 pax at any one time in keeping with SOPs.
