For the very first time in its history, a female member will be the organising chairman for the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Association (MATTA) Fair Penang.
The fair will be held from August 20 to 21 at the Setia Spice Arena. Some 150 booths will promote local and international packages.
Like previous fairs around the country, Malaysian Airlines System (MAS) will be the main sponsor of the long awaited event.
They will also offer free air tickets for lucky visitors to various locations at the fair.
Organising chairman, Carolyn Leong Mei Ching said that they expect a good turnout especially since this is the first fair after the pandemic.
Leong is also the deputy chairman of Matta Penang Chapter.
Among the exhibitors will be theme parks, cruise operators, hotels, State Tourism boards, airlines among others.
Also present was Matta Penang chapter chairman Vergis Mathews, MAS Area Manager Northern, Lisa Wong, Tourism Malaysia Northern Region Deputy Head Pn Siti Hajar, representatives from Motac Penang, Penang Global Tourism, Penang Convention and Exhibition Bureau among others.
Meanwhile, Vergis added that they only expect to make 40 per cent of the last Matta Fair in 2019 as the all travel industries are still recovering.
“There are even a few countries which are not fully open up too. As such, visitors can take the opportunity to plan to visit local destinations,” added Vergis.
So, mark the date to plan your next holiday with family and friends.
