Malaysia Gold & Jewellery Trade Exhibition 2025 was launched by Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre. Exhibitors from all over the world in attendance

The gathering is organized by the Penang Wholesalers and Goldsmiths Association (PWGS) and co-hosted by the Malaysia Gold Association (MGA).

There are some 150 exhibitors and an expected turnout of over 10,000 visitors will make their presence over two-days.

Exhibitors are from China, Hong Kong, Singapore, the UAE, Australia, Ireland, India, Myanmar and Pakistan are participating in the fair.

In his address, Chow shared that there are 20 Penang-based companies in attendance.

” We are honored to welcome top-tier international exhibitors – including Emirates Gold, Emirates Minting, Shangpinjin, and many more today.

“Several of these developments have contributed to a remarkable surge in global gold prices, which recently topped USD 3,000 per ounce. This isn’t just market fluctuation — it’s a signal.

“Gold, once again, is proving its timeless value as a secure and reliable investment, especially during periods of economic turbulence. And in this environment, events like today’s exhibition take on even greater relevance.

“We want Penang not only to sparkle as a global exhibition host, but to lead as the national champion in gold and jewellery production. We believe in our local talent and in our SMEs’ ability to rise and shine — and we stand ready to support them,” said Chow in his speech.

He also added that part of that vision is about driving the state to become a more diversified economy. And the jewelry industry-with its blend of tradition, technology, and global connectivity – fits beautifully into this future we are building together.

Also present was organising chairman, Law Chin Hooi, Dato Chia Hock Yew, President of the Federation of Goldsmith & Jewellers Association of Malaysia, Dato Wira Louis Ng Chun Hau, President Malaysia Gold Association, Datin Barathi, GM Chief Minister Incorporated,  Ashwin Gunasekeran, CEO Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau, Dato Rohaizi Bahari (Ministry of Domestic Trade) among others.
