In conjunction with the ongoing Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebrations, the Malam Citra Malaysia @ Penang 2026 will be held in Kepala Batas at Bertam Street Market on Saturday September 19, 2026,from 8pm to 12pm.

A variety of events, shows and programmes will be showcased. Among them are traditional dances reflecting Malay, Chinese and Indian cultures.

Other highlights include the De’ Laguna Marching Band from SK Bandar Laguna Merbok, Gempita Arjuna from SMK Permatang Tok Jaya, Ritma Tari from SK Seri Permai, Orkes Delima Band from UiTM Permatang Pauh, 4 Sedhage from USIM, Sobri Ibrahim, dancers from Pejabat Setiausaha Negeri Pulau Pinang serta Roslan Madun. “September is a busy month as we celebrate various events in this month, among them are the Festival Citra Mutiara on Sept 11-13 at Lebuh Armenian from 10am to 11pm and the Pesta Tanglung in conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival on Sept 19 at Padang Kota Lama,” said State Exco for Tourism & Creative Economy YB Wong Hon Wai.

He was accompanied by the organiser of Malam Citra Malaysia @ Penang, Muhammed Al-Azim Effendi, Bryan Wong from Sunshine Group, Ong Ching Shi, representing Penang Youth Development among others.

The Malam Citra Malaysia in Kepala Batas event will see the involvement of several youth organisations and students from various schools there. Other events are the Muay Thai Inter Club Championship 2026 from 9am to 10pm, the Battlezone Youth Esport 2026 and the Malaysia Day Colouring Contest.

Among the sponsors and partners for the event are Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC), Sunshine Bertam, Ritma Tari Permai and Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional Malaysia (FINAS).

The organisers expect some 5,000 to 10,000 attendees for the gathering.
