Open to the public, the event will treat attendees to a special exhibition match starring revered Malaysian national football legends Datuk Wira Soh Chin Ann and K Gunalan.
Riding The Wave Of Football Fever To Give Back To MAH Members Riding the momentum of this year’s FIFA World Cup, the MAH World of Football 2026 is our way of giving back to member hotels while celebrating the passion for football that’s sweeping the nation. This tournament is our heartfelt tribute to the hardworking hoteliers who keep Malaysia’s hospitality heartbeat alive every single
day.
“Behind every seamless check-in, immaculate room and world-class dining experience is a dedicated team that rarely gets to step out of the spotlight and onto the pitch. This event gives hotel staff an opportunity to celebrate their athleticism, pursue passions beyond the job, and remind us all that wellbeing, teamwork and joy are as essential to hospitality as the service itself.” said Cs Lim, Organising Chairman of MAH World of Football 2026.
One of the major highlights of the event will be an exhibition match between MAH GM Veterans VS MOTAC/Tourism Malaysia Veterans scheduled to take place ahead of the semi-finals. This special fixture will feature invited Malaysian football legends, with teams comprising senior veterans from MAH management and hotel members facing off against officials from MOTAC and Tourism Malaysia. Guest legends will be included on both sides to balance the competition and add to the excitement.
Among those confirmed to take part are Datuk Wira Soh Chin Ann, widely regarded as one of Malaysia’s greatest footballers and a former national team captain, and K. Gunalan, another celebrated name from Malaysia’s football history.
More football legends may also be involved on the day, with further participation to be announced.
MAH warmly welcomes local residents, football fans, hotel industry supporters, and members of the public to fill the stands at Stadium MPAJ, cheer for their local state teams and experience the matches live in a vibrant family-friendly atmosphere.
