Members of the Malaysian Association of Hotels Kedah/Perlis paid a courtesy call on the District Officer of Langkawi Tuan Mohamad Subhi Abdullah at his office earlier today. 

The delegation was led by their chairman Eugene Dass, vice chairman Adrian Chua, Hafiz Hashim (Treasurer) and Dave Anthony (Secretary).

The session served to discuss current developments with regards to tourism, promotion plans towards Visit Malaysia 2026 and other topics of interest. 

Among the matters discussed were the water issues, ferry services, cleanliness of the island and the upcoming Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2025.

Subhi assured that his office will assist MAH Kedah/Pelis in any possible way to promote tourism for Langkawi.

In terms of cleanliness,he urged everyone to play their role in keeping Langkawi clean and serene.

He also shared that the council has been carrying out several tree planning campaigns despite the extreme weather conditions. 

In the meantime, the district office council called on MAH to promote the Sandbar Walk on March 1, 2025 and urged the various hotels to support and encourage their participation.

He also assured that the council will involve MAH Kedah/Perlis in the community activities and other promotions.
