International artist, Madeleine Ekebald eyes light up in euphoria when she talks about her paintings.
Hailing from Australia, she is now on her second stint to exhibit her new range of art works at the G Gallery at the G Hotel here.
Dubbed “I Paint Music”, her works portray exactly that of her theme.
“I hear music in Nature, from anything like the rustle of the leaves or bamboo. It is everywhere I go,” she exclaimed.
Fondly known as Maddi to her friends, she has held exhibitions in Hong Kong, Taipei with buyers coming from France, Australia, China, Singapore, USA, India, South Korea and Australia buying her works.
“This time around, I have incorporated the colour blue in my works. Although it was quite challenging initially, I was amazed by the final product,” she adds.
For inspiration, she normally puts on jazz or classical music when doing her paintings.
Maddi comes from a long heritage of lineage of talented people with her parents being painters and sculptors while her grandmother had also designed for the British royal house.
During the launch ceremony of her exhibition, she was joined by her friends and supporters from the international community residing in Penang.
This time around Maddi is showcasing some 26 masterpieces at the exhibition with several being snapped up by her supporters.
Her works are priced from RM6,000 to RM8,100. Those keen to look up Maddi’s works can drop by the G Hotel till May 31, 2021.
