A popular eatery showed much needed appreciation for the hard work and dedication of Penang Island City Council workers by hosting them to a fine meal.

The Bite N Eat Dindigul Biriyani outlet in Penang Street invited more than 100 workers.

They are the ones who wake up early to clean the roads, drains and also collect the garbage and refuse put out by the community on a daily basis.

Guest-of-honour was the State Exco for Housing and Environment Dato Seri S Sundarajoo along with restaurant owner Dato Yuvabalan Sivasamy among others.

The gathering was also to celebrate Labour Day.

The special guests for the evening were treated to some of the tasty biryani prepared by the chefs and served piping hot.

In his address Sundarajoo wished all workers who had gathered a Happy Labour Day.

“Without your dedication our surroundings will not be clean and comfortable. Thank you for your hard work”, said Sundarajoo.

The evening’s special meal included their signature  briyani set, with chicken and eggs which went down well with all who had gathered.
