The Light Hotel Penang brings its “Iftar Citarasa Nostalgia” buffet dinner with more than 200 dishes on the buffet spread.
The dishes are time-tested and curated specially for the whole family and friends to enjoy.
The hotel’s culinary team has gone out its way to make the occasion a truly memorable gathering.
A Ramadan food preview was held to showcase their specialities at the Iftar at the Spice Brasserie for corporate guests, government agencies and media members recently.

Citarasa Nostalgia, which translates to ‘Taste of the Timeless’, emphasizing the shared cultural and culinary heritage dishes that are ancestral, classic and nostalgic specials.
The Ramadan buffet spread is put out by Executive Chef Hamizi Hamid and his team.
Guests were treated to a carefully curated selection of nostalgic dishes, each carefully crafted to transport them back to a time when spices and herbs were freshly incorporated into every meal.
A key highlight was the collaboration with single mothers who contributed their cherished recipes, adding a personal touch to the event’s menu and promoting future partnerships.

Single mothers who were invited were proudly cooking their respective family heirloom specials adding prestige to the occasion.
Puan Faridah serves weddings, sells her signature laksa which includes her specialities of Gulai Labu Air Cinta Manisah dan Kerabu Pucuk Paku Kerang.
Joining her is Puan Wan Suzanah who also offers mobile spa services and has lots of signature dishes to share like Udang Masak Lemak Cili Api Musang Berjanggut dan Rendang Assam Ikan Kering Tualang. It’s an appreciation gesture to the community as the hotel’s management sincerely appreciate the sacrifices and unconditional love of single mothers.
Other highlights included Rendang Tok, Ikan Bakar (grilled fish) station, Daging Harimau Menangis and a whole roasted lamb. Signature curries, lamb biryani and spreads of local hawker-style a la minute noodles were a luxury. The dining experience is further enhanced with a large spread of traditional and modern desserts selections.

Lending support was the general manager Raj Kumar, Ms Jessica Chan, executive assistant manager, Mohd Hamidi Haron, hotel manager and their management team.
As part of the hotel’s corporate social responsibility, duit raya were also given out to the children. Entertainment for the evening will be the Rayyan Band and also popular saxophonist Wan Andre.
