The Lexis Suites Penang hosted its annual Chinese New Year Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event at Rumah Charis in Pulau Betong.
The event brought together residents of Rumah Charis and the Lexis Suites Penang team for a day of festivities, games, and heartwarming moments.
The event kicked off with the arrival of the Lexis Suites Penang team, accompanied by a special appearance by Cai Sheng Ye, The God of Fortune, much to the delight of residents.
A guided tour of the house led by Mr. Allan, Rumah Charis’ coordinator, allowed participants to explore the facilities and learn more about the residents daily lives.
This was followed by a heartfelt speech by Ben Ho, General Manager, Lexis Suites Penang, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to give back to the community.
“We are truly grateful for the opportunity to bring joy and happiness to the residents of Rumah Charis through our Chinese New Year CSR event. It is a privilege to spend the day together, fostering connections and spreading positivity within our community”. added Ho.
Throughout the day, residents and volunteers participated in engaging games including a lively dancing competition, a challenging picture game, a fun balloon-blowing contest, invigorating exercises and stretching routines led by the Lexis Suites Penang team.
The highlight of the event was the traditional Yee Sang Tossing, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune for the coming year. The festivities continued with a sumptuous Chinese Dome set lunch, featuring a delectable array of dishes including Crispy Chicken with Lemon Sauce, Steamed Fish Fillet with Nyonya sauce, Japanese Tofu with Minced Chicken and Shiitake, Three Treasure Vegetables, Authentic Fried Rice Papillote in Lotus Leaves, and Almond Pudding with Longan.
The afternoon continued with more games, a soulful singing session, and a grocery product presentation, culminating in a group photo to commemorate the special day. As the event drew to a close, participants bid farewell with warm smiles and heartfelt expressions of gratitude, looking forward to future opportunities to reconnect.
