Despite the challenges currently faced in the hospitality industry, Lexis Suites Penang did not forgo the opportunity to help those in need within their vicinity.
This time around, they hosted some 30 children from Persatuan Anak-Anak Yatim Balik Pulau for a Ramadan buffet.
The home was founded by Puan Jamilah in 2008 and houses children from the ages from seven to 17-years-olds.
Her commendable and selfless gesture has led to providing shelter to kids from broken, poverty-stricken families along those children who were abandoned by their parents due to financial instability.
“It is indeed a blessing to be able to see all their joyful faces, enjoying the feast that we have prepared specially for them.
“We always try our best to spread cheers to those who are less fortunate than us as a way to remind every member of our staff of the importance of always choosing to be kind above all else.” said Lexis Suites Penang general manager, Ben Ho.
Also present was the Member of Parliament for Balik Pulau, Muhammad Bakhtiar, state assemblyman for Bayan Lepas, Azrul Mahathir, state assemblyman for Pulau Betong, Mohd Tuah Ismail and state assemblyman for Teluk Bahang, Zolkifli.Md Lazim.
The kids were greeted by the Lexis Suites Penang team to partake in the scrumptious Ramadhan dome spread, specially crafted by Executive Chef, Chef Johnno and his team of culinary experts.
The menu includes nasi arab, kambing panggang, ayam goreng berempah, satay, sup gear box and a broad selection of traditional Malay treats and desserts.
Ho and his VIP guests later presented each of the children with a special goody bag. They also received their first “duit raya” of the year from Lexis Suites Penang.
The next day, the Lexis Suites Penang team also visited several homes in their area to deliver some basic food necessities to the families.
Kudos to the Lexis Suites Penang team for their timely corporate social responsibility project.
