Another 5-star hospitality brand will feature in Penang, adding to the already burgeoning industry – this time around it is the Le Meridien Penang Airport.

The hotel will offer 200 rooms, a Presidential suite, a 300-capacity ballroom, a sky infinity pool, all-day dining outlets and world-class amenities tailored for business and leisure travelers.

The project is undertaken by the Rackson Group.

Meanwhile, the ceremony also served to launch Rackson’s Avion Service Apartments.

Present to officiate the event was Penang Chief Minister YAB Chow Kon Yeow who was welcomed by Rackson Group chairman Ng Lim Hon and chief executive officer Kelvin Lor.

Also present was Human Resources Minister YB Steven Sim, Dato Yeoh Soon Hin, Penang Port Commission chairman and deputy chairman of Tourism Malaysia, Penang Island City Council Mayor Dato A Rajendran among others.

Chow expressed his confidence that the new hotel will complement and serve a catalyst for the tourism momentum to attract even more tourists and business travellers to Penang.

The service apartments will offer 608 units in one, two and three-bedded configurations catering for diverse needs.

The project will feature an infinity swimming pool with panoramic views, a multipurpose hall, a state-of-art gymnasium and a sky lounge.

Designed as a transit- oriented development, Avion boasts seamless connectivity to the Penang International Airport, the up- coming LRT station and Mitsui outlets.

The Le Meridien Penang Airport, managed by Marriott International will be the first hotel directly connected to the Penang International Airport thus offering unrivalled convenience for tourists and local travellers.
