The Kek Lok Si Temple in Ayer Itam here was honoured with the Lord Buddha relics offering ceremony in an elaborate ceremony this morning.
The relics were from Wat Hong Rattanaram, a second class Royal Temple in Thailand.
Present was Venerable Phrathamyvajiramedhi who came all the way from Bangkok along with organising chairman Venerable Master Jit Heng and Consul General of Royal Thai Consulate-General Penang, Mr Raschada Jiwalai.
The gathering commenced with the singing of Triple Gems song along with guests.
This was followed by the introductory speech of Wat Hong Rattanaram, Venerable Phrathamvajiramedhi and Raschada.
Also present was Ms Lim Hui Ying, Deputy Minister of Finance of Malaysia who delivered her address too.
The highlight of the ceremony was handing over of the original certificate of the Offering of the Buddha Relics by Venerable Phrathamvajiramedhi on behalf of Wat Hong Rattanaram to
Venerable Xien Guan on behalf of Kek Lok Si Temple.
It was witnessed by YB Lim and HE Mr Raschada Jiwalai.
Thecceremony was followed by the presentation of souvenirs by Venerable Xien Guan Abbot of Kek Lok Si Temple to Venerable Phrathamvajiramedhi, Ms Lim and Mr Raschada Jiwalai.
The VIP delegation also posed for a group photograph upon conclusion of the ceremonies.
