MOU signing ceremony

In an effort to overcome the shortage of skilled workforce in the hospitality industry, the Jazz Hotel took the lead to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC).

On hand to perform the signing ceremony was Jazz Hotel manager, Jordon Lim along with  HCUC’s Vice-chancellor, Associate Professor Dr. Beh Kok Hooi.

Following the MOU, JAZZ Hotel Penang hotel would provide internship programs, community engagements, education and youth employment for HCUC students. 

The college will also provide consultancy services such as brand communication, digital marketing and social media management, corporate video and commercial production, and crisis communication management to Jazz Hotel.

Lim added that with the signing of the MOU, the first hotel in Penang to have signed an MOU with HCUC.

“We can now look forward to the collaboration and to be part of the journey to complete the graduates training on being well rounded, work ready, and are highly sought after individuals in the corporate world,” said Lim.

Dr Beh said that the move will help to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the students.

“This move will prepare them well for the hospitality industry. Students will gain access to internships, community engagements, workshops, youth employment, knowledge and skill transfer hosted by JAZZ Hotel Penang,” he added.
