Penang State Exco for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning, YB Jagdeep Singh Deo will meet with the new Minister for Local Government, YB Ngo Kor Ming to discuss pressing issues related to the state.
“I have contacted my counterpart in Putrajaya, YB Nga Kor Ming, the new Local Government Minister who has agreed and requested that I pay a visit to brief him on the many outstanding issues concerning housing which has not been settled by our former Federal Government.
“This meeting is scheduled to be held in the first week of January. I am confident that the meeting will be a successful one whereby I will return with positive news from our newly formed federal government that has been put in place with the support of all Malaysians.
“Meanwhile, we will continue with our housing agenda whereby todate we have reached 140,935 units of various types of affordable housing ranging from rent to own, low cost, low medium cost to affordable housing.
“In terms of maintenance, todate we have completed 34,457 projects at a cost of RM321.8 million which we will continue to assist all of our eligible housing schemes here in Penang by also ensuring private housing schemes receive funding in order to ensure liveability.
Jagdeep was speaking at Seri Kota Apartment, Datok Keramat, to announce the approval of their waterproofing project at a cost of RM361,200.00, whereby the state government will bear 80% of the cost.
The new waterproofing will bring much relief to the residents at the apartment complex.
