Housing maintenance assistance by state government

The Penang State Government has called on the federal government to consider their application for RM134 million for the maintenance of housing schemes here.

Despite this, the Penang State Government has continually included all residents in eligible housing schemes where maintenance is concerned.

“For 2022, we have allocated some RM22.25 million which includes replacement of lifts, water tanks and other upgrading works.

“This brings the total amount that we have to-date assisted Penangites now at RM312.8 million,” said State Exco for Housing, Local Government and Town and Country Planning,  Jagdeep Singh Deo at a press conference in Taman Jelutong Jaya earlier today.

Nevertheless, the state government is committed to help and approve of yet another maintenance project under our Penang State 80:20 fund, namely the upgrading of 2 lifts at the price of RM290,000.00.

There are 328 units of apartments in the building.

Also present at the event was the MP for Jelutong, RSN Rayer and State assemblywoman for Sungai Pinang, Lim Swee Khim.
